The artist

There is poetry here, discreetly elegant poetry born from graceful reconciliation of the chaos and fragility of what is infinitely small and the strength and stability of what is infinitely audacious. It is at the same time moving and exciting to experiment with overlapping an infinite number of small and delicate photographic elements with bold graphics and primal geometric shapes of different lights, creating a unique sense of harmony, almost utopian. Searching for this balance is an integral part of Flávia Tronca's process. She is a researcher whose methodology remains discreet, though deep and refined, a quality that allows her abstraction approach to create emotional sensations more commonly related to figurative art. There is courage in her geometric quest to structure the intangible and an almost mystical nature to her ability to conquer.

Luminary
Flávia explores the limits between fine arts and their technological propositions. The originality of LUMINAR lies in the very transition process between traditional painting and digital painting, as well as in the study of chromatic features and micro-contrast underlying information, through tools and techniques that are only available in the digital world.

Desecration
Flávia draws bridges between the traditional and digital painting by unveiling ruptures, breakthroughs and consequences of a long thinking process. Something that holds the capacity of guiding, capturing, and breaking gestures, entangling time. Color, shape, and movement features are understood as something that captures desires and creates (ramps up) subjectivations. DESECRATION is a form of restoration (deactivation) of the common use of the time of things, detaching it from the sacred dimension. Desecrate means doing something that entangles the ordering power, overcoming rules, as a possible moment of the rational framework going through the digital one. It is about turning taboo into totem.

Gestures
The study of color, light, and movement stems from traditional paintings designed in the studio, resulting from a long research process, leading to the digital world. It is not about a mere digitalization. The analog painting movement for digital printing in large formats involves a lengthy walk through traditional painting techniques offering graphic resources to be built up in intense and quick movements, that cannot be accomplished in conventional, expanded-scale pieces of work.

Trajectories
Digital art takes an ever-expanding space, side by side with its “sister”, traditional painting. The rise of technological arts has been increasingly fast, leaving an indelible impression on visual arts. In the Series named TRAJECTORIES, Flávia Tronca proposes a dialog between what is traditional and what is digital. Each is needed to understand the other, in a contemporary context. A movement that stems from the cultural heritage of the painted image towards the freely drawn gestures in the immaterial digital world, not looking for certainties of already established references, but rather pleased to enjoy the instability of discovery.

Uncertain Experience
Study and development of different traditional painting techniques offer particularly interesting digital pathways to be explored here, such as, for instance, the use of short, intense and very quick movements, of an almost random nature, micro-contexts or sceneries, which cannot be depicted in an actual scale, but digital art allows them to be significantly modified and accomplished through digitalization and giclée print.

Illuminated negligence
I use color in a state of movement, not as chromatic harmony, which is an academic vestige that I used to repel, as well as escaping from composition and balance. What I look for is very distant from obtaining a beautiful harmony of colors. What interests me is to bring about combinations in which colors achieve sizable power and in which the spatial ambiguity resulting from their overlapping and arrangement is evident.Flávia Tronca

Cities
I am an urban artist, even when I venture into natural themes or use intense, solid colors that are not necessarily found in the source of my theme of work. I am fascinated by urban issues, the wild visuality of the city, the quality of life, the relationship between people and the dialogue with culture.Flávia Tronca

Line, tone, transparency, overlay, abstraction, rhythm, balance – all these things in order to, as sought by contemporaneity, cut the meaning, avoid the narrative, description, escape the indigent realm of linguistics to find a way out, and ending.Glaucia Olinger

Antiwords
At times it is geometric, other times it highlights the connection with the real, open to contemporary issues, challenging the color that emerges through photographic deconstruction and acrylic on canvas. What matters here is art as a result of knowledge, shared and continued. A process expanding the domain of thought. An impossibility to communicate through words and at the same time a journey through the senses. ANTIPALAVRAS is provoking, and invitation to have an aesthetic experience.Flávia Tronca

Constructions
Geometry is the catalyst providing a solid conceptual structure in which we can investigate its intangible, ephemeral themes. It is the use of light – or perhaps more accurately, light interacting with texture, color and scale in an almost choreographic manner – that enables its scenario to be materialized, providing life and depth to immateriality. Memory
Art is born in our memory and materializes through color, lines, shapes and materials. No one can escape that! My dialogue hardly ever takes place in small formats. It is particularly difficult for me to work with small dimensions or passive chromatic relationships, hence a geometry developed from urban elements and motifs. A color relationship that needs contrast, but with no winners. I am continuously trying to develop an interesting way to look, where color, structure and materials define and finalize the work.Flávia Tronca
